Hutch Cafe - Calgary

The food at this restaurant is delicious and the service is excellent! We especially appreciate that the four of us were able to have a conversation without having to raise our voices. The cutlery, glassware, and dishes were all so beautiful, making our lunch experience even more special.

This restaurant is located in the heart of the city and offers a beautiful, picturesque setting. The interior is modern and inviting, and the coffee is delicious. I ordered the crushed avocado sandwich with Broccoli-Cheddar soup. The soup wasn't as hot as I expected, but the flavor made up for it. The homemade bread on the sandwich was the highlight, and the garlic in the avocado spread was a pleasant surprise. The attentive and friendly server added to the overall positive experience.

This was my second visit to The Hatch Cafe. The first time, the restaurant was busy and my party of two waited over 45 minutes to be served. Despite the wait, we decided to give it another try, hoping that they had improved. Two months later, on a late Sunday afternoon, three of us went back. This time, the restaurant was not busy and there were still open tables. However, we waited for an hour to be served. The server did not apologize or provide an explanation for the delay. It seemed like they were used to making customers wait, which is unacceptable. The dishes we ordered were not overly complex, so there was no reason for the long wait. I will not be returning to The Hatch Cafe. While the food was good, it was slightly overpriced for the portion sizes. The decor of the restaurant, however, was beautiful.
