The decor is beautiful and the service is friendly and attentive. Some dishes were found to be average in quality, while others exceeded expectations. The restaurant/lounge provides a great atmosphere, good food, and a wide selection of craft beers and wines. Overall, Freeport Food & Drink is a solid choice for a meal, whether you're staying nearby or just passing through during happy hour.
We were staying next door at a hotel that did not have a restaurant so walked over to Freeport Food & Drink and so glad we did. We were a group of 4 and each of us enjoyed our supper very much. Our waitress was very busy but never gave you the impression that she was rushed and took the time to explain some craft beers and wines to us, as well as to make food recommendations. The decor is very nice as well.
Walked over here from the sister property where we had a few captain and cokes, along with a steak sandwich. There are plenty of TV and service was spot on while we were there. I had the steak sandwich. I found the steak to be cooked to the proper temp (med rare) and quite tender. I enjoyed the fried mushrooms of top. Caesar salad tasted good as well. My friend had the salmon burger, which he enjoyed as well. I would recommend this place
We ordered appetizers and wine. The wine was from British, Columbia and was very good. The appetizers were just barely acceptable. The nachos were way over cooked -- almost burnt and had little "Nacho" flavor and zest. I think my expectations of great southwestern US Tex-Mex were way to high for Calgary standards.
If you order the seafood skewers be aware that 1 skewer consists of 2 medium shrimp & 2 scallops, each almost $7. What a Pear salad was delicious & I would recommend this!Other in party had Peruvian Seafood Ceviche which he found to be a bit too hot spicy. (& he is use to spicy foods)Salad & Ceviche were priced appropriately.
We had several dinners and breakfasts at Freeport Food & Drink, including with friends, and all was superb. One of the most beautifully decorated restaurants I've seen.
