Second year we have gone here for our Christmas party. Menu is unbeatable for that and service was above A+. Haven't tried it for a regular night but if you want to book a party that impresses this is the place View all feedback.
What Ryan Allen doesn't like about Bread And Circus Trattoria:
Staff were very friendly and reasonably attentive. Food was unfortunately and surprisingly bland for a place which had good reviews. My biggest gripe was the batch made cocktails that come in little jars. No real-time effort was being put into them and they weren’t that good. I was here back when they first opened and it was really good but seems something has changed as this place has matured. Value for money was qu... View all feedback.
This is such a great place! Very small and intimate. Food is delicious. The giant meatball is a must get, and the pasta is some of the best I've ever had at a restaurant. Super good place!!
I was really impressed by the starters here. I got the beef carpaccio which was the best thing I tasted here by far. I was a little underwhelmed by the pasta you could tell the ingredients used in the sauce were of high quality, but the noodles and plating of the pastas left something to be desired, especially for the price. I felt the noodles were tough for hand made pasta and was more akin to ramen.
Have only been here once but was a great little place! As a celiac, it was nice to find an Italian place that did gluten free so safely and tasty! Will definitely be back to try more options!
Staff is excellent and the food was top notch! Great happy hour too!
Great place for dinner. It's a cozy little place tucked inside Una Takeaway. One of the things I really like was being able to see how long of a wait it is to get a table, and then being able to put ourselves on the wait list while we were driving down to the restaurant. Parking is a bit of a pain on 17th Ave, we circled about 5 minutes before we decided to just park in the ParkPlus lot right across the street. Dinner was amazing. Most places give you bread with vinegar and oil but they gave us this freshly popped popcorn tosses in oil and cheese. It was super light and didn't stuff you so that you couldn't eat dinner. For the Antipasta we had the Mortadella for the starter, the cheese makes the difference there! They shave the cheese right before they serve the dish. Good amount of meat but it would be been better if we could have had a bit more arugula on there. They only put a small handful which seems a bit little for me. For the Primi course we had Cacio e Pepe. Delicious with just the pasta and the peper. Felt that the pasta was a bit too al dente for my liking. Took the sauce from the bottom and poured it onto the pasta, and made it a bit too salty. For the Secondi I ordered the 14 Day aged Duck Breast. It tasted amazing, melt in your mouth kind of thing. The duck had the skin with a good amount of fat on there and it wasn't overcooked. The pears were sitting on top of the date and mascarpone puree and honestly I could have asked for more. The pears were sweet but they added a nice mixture to the duck. For dessert we had the cannoli. Now normally I love cannoli and I usually want more. This one didn't really do it for me for 2 reasons the parsnip was a bit hard, and it was hard to bite into. Second was the cream, I don't love orange flavoured cream.
