What Patsy Auer doesn't like about Bill's Peking House Restaurant:
Orders their takeout meal for Suppose to come with ginger beef, sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, and mixed vegetable. Paid cash for the discount. Drove in from Edmonton picked up and went to hotel. Opened the bag to veggies, no ginger beef. Called them and had to drive all the way back, and they gave me gunner beef, but no apology or discount for the waste of time, gas or my cold meal waiting back at the hotel. To... View all feedback.
Love it here! I miss the white table cloth vibe but overall the restaurant is still great. I eat here often.
Very good. Not to salty, good selection of Peking style and Cantonese food. We had the dinner for 6 (3 men, 3 women) and had leftovers of all dishes except one
We were visiting Calgary for a wedding and stayed along McLeod Trail with shopping and restaurants nearby. Tried their seafood dishes as well as "caught of the day" freshly shipped from the west coast. We were surprised the quality and cooking skills of the chef as it's as tasty from the hi-end Chinese restaurant in Vancouver, BC. We also tried their dim sum the next morning and they were awesome. We ended up dining again the night before we left Calgary before heading home and the food is still memorable.

This has always been a good place to go for Chinese food, but over the past two years it has gone downhill quickly. This was always a central place for family to meet to eat, and the food was good. This past week we went, and it was awful. We have our favorite dishes, dumplings, ginger beef, the skinny noodles with veggies and meat, pecking style pork (I think it's called), sizzling rice, and a chicken dish. To start off the sizes are smaller, the dumplings were just wads of dough, the noodles (and this dish was really small) were just okay, the ginger beef tough and tasteless, and the sizzling rice was really small in portion and not very good either. Even worse were the horrible, horrible cookies at the end. We all took a bite and instantly opened our mouths to spit them out, these aren't delicious fortune cookies, but some cheap coconut disgusting cookie. It's shocking, even the décor has been cheapened by plastic table clothes. This is not a fine dining experience, but like eating at a mall food court. I knew it had been sold, but for the first while it was still good, but nope not any more. I'd assume cutting corners will cost this place a lot of both old a new customers. I certainly would never recommend this place. It breaks my heart, as I use to crave this food and rave about how good it was, operative word "was".
