Grabbed two dishes to try from this restaurant the other night and was very pleased. The taste is authentic like the dishes found in Thailand. After taking a trip to Thailand two years ago I have not found anywhere remotely similar. But this meal made me feel like I was back there again. Portions are very generous too! One dish can serve two people. View all feedback.
What Ivano Blažević doesn't like about A Taste of Thailand:
I was in Vancouver last month and had an average Thai dinner from a city restaurant. Soooo good. With that in mind I was craving some more and I attempted to find a good Thai place to order take-out from. Taste of Thailand was not...More View all feedback.
We ordered the delivery by skip the dishes. we had the shrimp jump rolling, pig meat dumpling and cashew huh. the food was cold and we are not far from the restaurant so it should not have been so cold and I followed the driver and he took 6 minutes. the only thing that was in order was the cashew chicken that was certainly not like cashew chicken that we got in Thai, but it was okay, we ate it. the shrimp jump rolls were too big and not tightly rolled so they just fell apart, usually submitted with carrots, salat and tofu. and now the pig battles....what is the back? blue gumey teig shaped in a goofy flower with a maximum of 1/4 teesp. filing. absolutely not edible, tasted like uncooked, gummy. I tried to get only the filling, but that didn't work pork dumplings are the favorite thing of my men to order. they went right into the müll. will be on the look for another Thai restaurant.
My wife and I stay close to an airbnb and thought we would taste of thailand give an attempt after reading the TripAdvisor reviews. we were really glad we did. moderately price menu with a wide selection of dresses to choose from. we shared. the pad thai, spicy veggie and bark stir fry and coco rice. everything was tasteful, hot and enough that we needed takeout boxes. the service was attentive and we felt well looked around.
From here on skip the dishes ordered and was pleasantly surprised. we had the basilikum chicken roast, bark red curry, garnelen pad thai, chicken feather rolls, tom yam soup, sun kissed gay, sticky rice, and the custard sticky rice for dessert. I asked for all three of them, and they delivered as promised. good heat and good aroma. the curry is beautiful and delicate with perhaps a little more cocose than I had in pastness, but it was delicious and had another perfect bite. the touching frit and the noodles were both excellent as the appetizers and suppe. the cuddly sticky rice was a little strange to us, but we never had it, so we have nothing to compare. it tasted good enough, and we managed to peel everything down, I think we were simply not used to the different textures.
We love to eat here especially when we hunger after work and I don't feel like cooking or even warming up eating. here is all excellent: food, service, ambiente. very expensive, fast and tasty.
This is a very small place with not very many tables. They seem to cater mostly too take-out delivery customers through Skip the Dishes When we came for dinner we were sat at a small table for two which was right by the bathroom entrance.. which at first I didn't think too much of because there was very few people in the restaurant (remember only a few tables). But right away there was a line-up and steady stream of Skip the Dishes delivery people and they are told to wait by the bathroom entrance basically right in front of and around the table we were sat at. This is a small place and having a bunch of delivery drivers standing around your tables was somewhat claustrophobic...and then when someone did come to use the washroom they had to bump their way through...it was not an ideal dining experience. As there were several tables that were empty we got up to move to the other side of the restaurant and went to tell the young waiter we wanted to move. But he forbid us from moving saying that is where he had sat us and the other tables were not available (remember of the 5-6 total tables, there was only one other group that was in the restaurant dining). We were confused. I explained that there was too much traffic at the table he had sat us at as it was right by the delivery pick up location and bathroom and we felt very crowded in (you know butts in your face kind of deal, and people carrying those big cumbersome insulated delivery bags, etc). He said that was our table and we could not move...so we cancelled our order and left. I cannot comment on the food but the service was terrible. The young (and for some unknown reason somewhat angry) man was flippant about the whole deal. We ended up going to a nearby Thai restaurant and had a great experience.
