I was really impressed with Pho Nam. I usually have high standards for Vietnamese food, but this restaurant exceeded my expectations. I tried the Hu Tieu, a chicken-based soup that was a delicious alternative to the typical Pho. The noodles were cooked perfectly and not too overwhelming. I have visited Pho Nam eight times now and I really enjoy it. The food is freshly made, which is crucial for salad rolls, and the dishes are not the typical Vietnamese fare found at many other restaurants. Tonight I tried the Satay Beef Vermicelli (number 50 on the menu) and it was not just beef coated in satay sauce, but beef cooked with sautéed onions and peppers in a rich satay sauce. The combination of warm and spicy flavors worked well with the noodles and the cool lettuce, carrots, and sprouts typically found in a vermicelli dish. This dish is a great example of how familiar flavors can be rearranged to create a more unique Vietnamese meal. I highly recommend visiting Pho Nam for a quick and well-prepared meal.
We were disappointed when the Greek restaurant that used to be in this location closed down, but we have since started frequenting Pho Nam for both dining in and takeout and are generally pleased with the establishment. The salad rolls and vermicelli are always delicious. However, I did have a disappointing experience when I ordered the beef noodle soup (pho) as it was extremely greasy and difficult to eat. Our server noticed and explained that they usually make the broth the day before to skim off excess fat after refrigerating it, but on this occasion, I was served broth made that same day. The server kindly replaced it with slightly less greasy broth, which was better but not the best. Despite this hiccup, we have had great experiences overall and the service is exceptionally fast. We will continue to dine at Pho Nam, but I may opt to try something different next time and avoid the pho.

I even finished the whole bowl, which is rare for me. The deep fried wontons added a nice crunch to the soup, and the shredded chicken was just the right amount. The broth was flavorful and truly memorable. Overall, a great meal that turned my day around. Well done, Pho Nam.
I like the Pho here along with the Vietnamese subs. It's nice to have a great quality soup joint in the neighbourhood. I have eaten here 10 times now and the food is consistently great. Enjoy.
