Dpoly Cocina Mexicana - Calexico

D'Poly is a family run cantina with lunch and dinner offerings. The standard Mexican cuisine menu of burritos, tacos and other typical items are offered. The food is very good, very fresh, and the atmosphere is quite welcoming. The service is friendly and good. Calexico does not have many good non-chain restaurants. This place is good. Of course, if you want more choices, Mexicali is right next door, behind the towering, medieval border wall, barbed wire, and militarized border patrol agents. Its a visual shock to see this wall (built in 2008, with recent layerings of barbed wire in 2018) running straight parallel to Calexico's main shopping street.

Ordered 5 tacos and I got the bag, paid and went home to open everything up and realize they only gave me two. Ridiculous because I still paid for 5. Guess I can’t assume they would do their job properly to where I didn’t have to check the bag before leaving the restaurant.

First time ordering from here. Food was great and well packed. They were taking good Covid precautions. The person handling the food was not handling payments ?

They never answer phone , if you want to call to place an order for take out. But very good food.

This was my second time time here and it did not disappoint. Mexico is a few hundred yards away but the food tastes like you are there. Everything is super fresh. We had several tacos including all of their house specials. Each was great and unique. Highly recommend.It's only a few minutes from the highway and has plenty of parking. We were towing an RV and were able to park right by the parking lot entrance on the street without problems.
