Reviews - D Poly

#11 - Mexican - Calexico, Soup, Meat

Reviews summary

D-Poly has emerged as a culinary hotspot, enticing diners with a menu bursting with flavor and a cozy ambiance. Many guests rave about the delicious food, particularly the menudo and California burritos, noting a genuine homemade taste and excellent presentation. However, this perfection is marred by inconsistent service, with reports of slow wait times and unclean conditions tarnishing the experience. While some diners enjoy a delightful breakfast on busy weekends, others lament the lack of attention and cleanliness, suggesting that improvements are needed to harmonize the restaurant’s offerings with customer service. Ultimately, D-Poly presents a tantalizing yet flawed dining experience.

Was Noble McCullough at D Poly a mag?

I visited the location on 2nd Street, and I had a great experience. The food is delicious, with a fantastic variety to choose from. The highlight for me is their menudo, especially on the weekends. View all feedback.

What Noble McCullough dislikes about D Poly:

As soon as we walked in it smelled like sewer. We also noticed one of the severs was cleaning the windows with a bucket filled with water that looked more like mud. She used that same towel to clean the table that we sat at. She also left the bucket of muddy water at the table next to us, and only removed it to seat other people there. The food tasted bland. And the guacamole was very watered down. We went there on th... View all feedback.

The customer service was exceptionally rude, and the food was only mediocre. I've had better tacos at Palmas or Sombreros. If they dedicated the same effort to preparing their food as they do to opening new locations, they might be successful, but unfortunately, they don't.

The service is excellent, and the food is tasty. You won't have to wait long for your meals.

The taste and quality of the meals have declined, as it’s clear that they are taking shortcuts in food preparation. I’m disappointed, D'Poly. The food just isn’t what it used to be.

The taste and quality of the meals have declined, clearly indicating that they are cutting corners in food preparation. I'm sorry, D'Poly, but the food has definitely taken a turn for the worse.

The quality of the food has declined over the past few years. This was particularly clear yesterday when I ordered a small red menudo, which seemed like they just took white menudo and added some red chili powder for coloring. The taste was so bad that I couldn't finish it. We also tried a beef burrito, but the meat was very bland. The jamaica drinks tasted like Kool-Aid. While the service was good, the food was disappointing. Unfortunately, we won't be returning to D Poly's.

The food was fantastic, the service was excellent, and it truly felt like a wonderful Southern Californian experience. They have an incredible selection of salsas. I tried my first California burrito here, and I highly recommend it!

I had the worst experience of my life at this restaurant and I will not be returning. The service was slow, and the food didn't live up to the standards of a good taco shop in the area. They really need to improve their customer service and cleanliness, as the place was quite dirty where I was seated.

Excellent food. Truly homemade taste. Good presentation. Everything we had was delicious. A touch pricey, but worthwhile. Would go out of the way to visit D-Poly again.

Not a very good value for the price they charge. I ordered a quesadilla and it was the size of a street taco tortilla. My buddy ordered 3 street tacos and they were not prepared very well. Overall not too good. JALISCOS much better.

This place has really good food however it is shaded entirely bad by the horrendous service of the waitresses. Expect to wait at minimum 15 minutes to be asked for your drink order. Then another 35-45 minutes for food order. *A gentleman just got up and left with only have received his drink during his lunch hour as I sit and write this review. **** this place and the shitty nonchalant attitude of the service here.

Eating was bland, place was not inviting, service medium best! it is too bad because you really want the business to be successful, but I will never go back! if they order tacos, they want a reason not to get over the limit tacos, but the carne asada tacos from a street corner in mexicali have more taste.

The food is great, but I've attempted to visit the past two weeks at 6 PM, and it was closed both times. The hours posted on the door indicate that they should be open until 9 PM.
