We love the Lisbonense restaurant at the Sana hotel in Caldas as it provides top-class food, service, and ambiance several notches above what is commonly found in this part of Portugal. The international hotel style may not be what everyone is looking for and you will pay more than in many a local restaurant but for a special occasion it is good value for money View all feedback.
The restaurant was utterly appalling. We had a pescatarian and a vegetarian in our party. Rather than make another amuse bouche, they simply served none to 2 of the 4. My son's hake was breaded rubbish out of a freezer. He could not eat it. The prawn risotto and the mushroom risotto were swimming in unabsorbed stock. They were so bad we have up trying to eat, asked got the bill and left. The waitress said it was terrible that 3 could not eat, she was sorry and gave a 10% discount. We paid €115 for bread, olives, a glass of wine, 2 sprite, a coke zero and the tuna which was ok. In addition to the 3 terrible meals. Never again. Avoid at all cost!
Wonderful fixed menu with two nice options. My husband and I both chose the cod fish appetizer and the seared ahi tuna. Both were delicious. Service was pleasant and timely. We really enjoyed our lunch.
Visited at lunchtime and restaurant was full. Despite the number of patrons both the food and service was excellent. Highly recommended and will definitely be visiting again soon.

Food was good but very slow service even though the restaurant was nearly empty. A disappointment this time.
