A Ribatejana - Caldas da Rainha

A true neighborhood joint. This restaurant was just steps from our hotel and we didn't know it existed until a week after we arrived. We stumbled upon it on our way back from downtown Caldas and it was packed with locals (that is always a good sign). Good comfort food at very reasonable prices and friendly staff. Great value!

As an example of what we are lucky enough to have as our local restaurant when they did not have Brandy Mel honey Brandy next time we returned later in the week they had a bottle on the shelf. The staff and family are always attentive, making you feel welcome and the food is excellent value for money, recently on Fridays there was a crab special, feeds 2 people, whole crab, bread, olives etc, 1/2 ltr house wine, soft drinks, coffee, brandy all for around €23, a regular takeaway for us, 1 portion serves 2 people, pork loin or Javeli Wild boar chips rice, plus salad €12 don 't be fooled by the entrance go inside the main tables are through the back, finally when recently we went and sat down even though the tables are socially distanced 2 Portuguese Ladies said to the waiter we were too close ! not knowing we understood what they were saying, very quickly the owner came across and said they are not moving, they may be English but they are not tourists they live here, you can change seats if you wish, of course they did not, and then he came and asked us were we alright, we just laughed and said thank you

I vår strävan att hitta nya restauranger att äta i kaldas da rainha, valet nu föll på restaurangen ribatejana som ligger nära kyrkogården. Vi har gått här många gånger under åren, men nu var det dags att testa och efter en kort tid var restaurangen full. Det finns mycket att välja mellan och mitt val var grillad bläckfiskar med pommes och ris; de verkliga portioner som jag antar är anledningen till de många byggarbetare som tog borden i rummet. Om du är bra och du vill prova något nytt kan jag rekommendera den här restaurangen.
