This a very typical small Spanish bar no frills but good service and tapas with every drink. vittorio The owner is very stern looking but ok. We had him laughing by end of night. excellent value for money bar.

Th... read more It was about 13:30, maybe a bit early for Spaniards to eat, but Mérida being a tourist city, I thought it should not be a problem to have lunch at that time. The Mesón looking quite typical and the menu sounding good, I thought I would give it a try. So I entered, the room was empty and an old man appeared. I asked him if it was possible to eat and he just said no, leaning on the bar. From his behaviour, I thought he was joking as this is the kind of thing I myself could do. So I just said no? And keeping his eyes somewhere in another direction, he just repeated no . So I just went out, sceptical.
