Great value, tasty, good serving sizes. Had a good, earthy, local feel, including the waiter and staff, rather than a bar for tourists.
It might be cheap and cheerful, but we had a delicious lunch here. Nothing fancy, just good, honest food. The rest of the clientele were Spanish locals always a good sign We had a glass of the local red delicious and very reasonably priced Would go there again
Always have a one or two night stopover at hotel zeus, with pool, in merida on route to faro. found this small bar two years ago. prices very resonable, owners can't speak any English but try to be helpful.menu in English which helps, beer served in iced pint glasses. This a very typical small Spanish bar no frills but good service and tapas with every drink. vittorio The owner is very stern looking but ok. We had him laughing by end of night. excellent value for money bar.
We enjoyed this restaurant with personalised attention from owners. Special local food. Small place but great. Has an area outside by the Alcazar walls.
It was about 13:30, maybe a bit early for Spaniards to eat, but Mérida being a tourist city, I thought it should not be a problem to have lunch at that time. The Mesón looking quite typical and the menu sounding good, I thought I would give it a try. So I entered, the room was empty and an old man appeared. I asked him if it was possible to eat and he just said no, leaning on the bar. From his behaviour, I thought he was joking as this is the kind of thing I myself could do. So I just said no? And keeping his eyes somewhere in another direction, he just repeated no . So I just went out, sceptical.
