iyara by Sakare - Cairns

We didn't know what we would get here. Didn't check TA just walked in. We sat on the verandah looking out over esplanade: beautiful view. The food was excellent. I had mixed entree and it was presented well and tastes delicious. Mains was shared with various dishes but all very good. Confit duck curry was probably my favourite. Staff friendly and helpful.

Located above most restaurant afford patrons with a great view looking out on to the Esplanade. The food lacked flavour so if you like mildly spicy food this is the place for you. The restaurant was extremely busy so service was slow but the waiters were lovely and accomodating.

Once you climb the stairs you leave the noise of The Esplanade behind. Delightful staff and great food, would highly recommend.

After a day at the reef, I needed a glass of wine; but after being seated took a good 15 minutes to get served.After this little hiccup- service was great & the food pretty amazing.Had the Khao Soi with roti bread & walked away full (very full!!)Very generous main meal sizes!Roti bread a fluffy, crispy bite sized pieces!!!Will return!!!

Ate for the first time on Sunday night. Food and service amazing and had they been the same on our 2nd visit on a Friday night they would have had 5 stars. Friday night food was still great but service was simply chaos. Staff extremely disorganised. No one behind the bar resulting in our drinks not arriving until we asked twice.The only exception was Maria who seemed to be running 4 times as fast as everyone else. Saw other potential customers waiting at least 10 mins at the door before they were even acknowledged. Very expensive but the food is truly excellent, but service is.... well........
