Cafe China Express At The Pier

My expectations weren't high but this restaurant was very pleasant. The gyoza was particularly good as were the Singapore needles. It is in a major tourist location but the prices were not over inflated and service was good.

One night we weren't as hungry so visited this restaurant and shared entrees between us.It has a good view of the marina and the food is tasty and reasonably priced. Choices are somewhat limited.

Its very reasonnable price, the service is quick and the dishes are very tasty. I recommend the seafood Laksa.

You have to look after yourself in this place. Order meals and drinks at the kitchen and then collect your condiments and cutlery and go back to your table. No table service at all but the will bring your food to the table, and that's about all. Go and get water yourself. Hardly a word was spoken. Food was marginal. It all seems to be the same base with just varying sauces added.

What do you do on Valentine's Day when every other place is booked up in the city? You go have Chinese, of course. Cafe China Express at the Pier was a nice little place where the food had more of a home-style preparation and taste to it than you would normally find in other Chinese restaurants. Service was great, such very nice people, and there was a lot of food with each meal. I'd eat here again, it was an excellent value and tasted good.
