Feedback
We have been coming back to this hotel and the restaurant (almost) every summer since we stayed there the night after our wedding in 2010. The restaurant has always been fabulous and long before we were married it enjoyed a very good reputation. The hotel must be under new management because the food was below the standard you would expect from a typical 12-18 Euro menu in this particular area of France (we have been coming here since 1999) Yet our food cost approx 50 Euros for 4 courses. You can have an exquisite meal in the Lot for this price. The excellent waitor was a shadow of himself, I assume because he feels humiliated to be serving such terrible food. The starter we had was supermarket standard four gras with supermarket brioche toasted on the side. Our main was tasteless lamb cutlets with watery veg and a salty, not unpleasant but very big standard John Dory fish with greasy croutons and unmemorable mash potato, the cheese board was fine but you can hardly go wrong, and the panna cotta my husband had was a horrible artificial flavoured liquid which hadn’t set so was served in a glass. It was so disappointing, the end of a lovely romantic era for us.
