I appreciated the location, out of the bustle of the downtown area and with easier parking, by a lovely bridge over the Lot River. And the food was delightful! There were 2 fixed price menus, which were good values and had a variety of well-prepared and beautifully presented courses. We enjoyed ourselves. View all feedback.
What Ellybelky doesn't like about Au Fil des Douceurs:
From the unfriendly welcome into the saccharine and starkly lit interior, through the generally unimaginative menu, this restaurant rates as solidly mediocre. The unpleasant and unbending waitress did nothing to mitigate the austere environment, and indeed nothing support the solid if uninspired efforts of the kitchen. Must be unique as the only restaurant in which I can remember being denied a green salad as ‘unavai... View all feedback.
We had a beautifully prepared French cuisine in what is a pleasant, quiet and sophisticated restaurant (in the best sense of the term) where the service was super efficient but always very discreet and at the same time personal. there was no distraction of good food - no music at all and it was not necessary in this little haven of peace. We both thought that the restaurant was of a very good value for money - both for food and wine. We first visited by accident because it was near the hotel, but we were so impressed that we returned there during a short visit of a few days - (the second for a party occasion) with both excellent cuisine and service. highly recommended if you want to spend a quiet evening with first order cuisine from local products.
We arrived without reservation, which could have been risky because it was full of time after with the premises. excellent menu beautifully presented. great wine map.
The food was fantastic. We didn't have a reservation, but they made us enter. the staff spoke a little English, but we did it work anyway. The wine was excellent.
According to the people we spoke to, there are a lot of good restaurants in cahors, so we didn't know if going to the closest to our hotel was the best choice. However, after a long day on the road, we did not want to drive or walk to the old section. We managed to get a last minute reservation for 19 hours. We were not disappointed with our decision and enjoyed a delicious dinner. food and service were excellent. one of the staff spoke English enough to explain the menu. Most of the guests were well dressed and many men wore iron jeans and a buttoned shirt. apart from pubs, jeans and a t-shirt are not the norm for dinner.
We were a group of four for dinner. good service and good food. We enjoyed our evening with special friends. we were in the countryside for a stay of 10 people in a villa in a brown.
