It's in a qui... read more The Plato Cafe is under the new management of Claudio Schirru, an engaging young guy who has created a comfortable, inviting space with this cafe. It's in a quiet neighborhood so you might have trouble finding it, but it's well worth the trouble. I've been here a couple of times already and found myself spending many hours here. I like this place a lot. SECRET: They do a great lunch buffet for just 10 Euros. The food is great, not your normal bar food by any means (lots of fresh seafood), and it's quite a good value (it comes with a drink, desert, and coffee too). Claudio is going to start experimenting with dinner on Saturday evening too, so ask about that. TIP: one of the best pizza places in Cagliari is Pepe Nero, located just a few doors down from here, Meet up here with friends before you go there and come back after for a drink. TIP: If you're visiting the Bonaria Church (Santuario di Nostra Signora di Bonaria) you're only a comfortable 10 minute walk from the Plato Cafe. The Plato Cafe is comfortable, clean, nicely decorated, and they play excellent music. They also have live music from time to time (there was a great group here on Saturday night, Loungedelica), and there's a piano here in case YOU want to be the live music. Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere, great music, very reasonable prices An interesting touch is the books hanging from the wall. The books also spread out over the place to enjoy. Most are in English but some are in English. If you have books that you've finished on your travels, they'd find a good home here. ANOTHER PLUS: The internet connection is great, and they don't mind you spending even a few hours working here. Nice.
