Le Fontane - CAGLI

We went there because of some recommendations of friends however we were disappointed. Plastic garden chairs covered by white cloth do not make a posh Ambiente. We had pasta, which was okish, steak, which was thinly sliced and not very tasty, mushrooms which were supposed to be fresh, but we doubted that as they were rather mushy. pizza was ok, but also not as good as expected. Alltogether disappointing.

Took a long time to attract attention of service, even though restaurant was not crowded. Small children got their meal last, after more than one hour waiting. My friend had one of the worst tagliata he has ever experienced.

Italian pasta and service is beyond good. The restaurant was filled with locals and very accommodating to us. It is worth a trip and the views of the valley and the castle above are marvelous and an interesting add-in.

Not too sure why some other reviewers were disappointed this visit was as fine as ever. Great value, good pizza excellent meats and a warm welcome.
