The food was light and ten... read more Went to ' The Darran ' didn 't even know if they served food ? But scampi and trimmings were ordered along with the 8 oz dump steak . The food was light and tender not chewy with all the trimmings . The staff were extremely helpful as I am partially disabled . The puddings were so good we actually had them prepare one each to take home with us !!! Parking was easy and plenty of room . A big must if you struggle getting around !!! Vegetarian options: There was a vegetarian option on a few items . But didn 't pay much attention to that sorry !! Parking: Pub has it 's it 's own very generous car park with plenty near the entrance to the pub

I enjoyed a curry and a drink, both of which were delicious. The staff were extremely friendly and polite. For vegetarians, the Thai curry was a standout dish. Parking was easy to find, and the cost per person came to around £30–40. Overall, I would rate the food a solid 5 out of 5.

The steak I ordered was tough and rubbery, and the hunter's chicken came without cheese or barbecue sauce. The service was lacking—a few staff members were rude and unprofessional, simply slapping our plates down in front of us, although Lisa was helpful. Additionally, the beer prices felt more appropriate for London rather than Risca. Overall, it’s safe to say I won’t be returning, not even if it were free. Price per person: £10–20.

The staff were very welcoming and were very flexible regarding the ordering process as 80+ year olds would not have coped with QR codes. All in all a very pleasant afternoon, just a shame Wales lost to Ireland in the Rugby. Vegetarian options: Good vegan options. Price per person: £20–30

There was only one lady working, but she was kind and explained that she was on her own. She brought our drinks over and gave us some time to decide on our orders. Despite having to wait a bit, I didn't mind because she was managing everything by herself. The buttermilk chicken strips and popcorn chicken were delicious and beautifully presented. The chips and fries were flavorful and enjoyable. The rocket salad was also really tasty. The drinks were fresh and the decor was lovely. Although the restaurant didn't have the Marston's logo, it had other indicators that it was a Marston's establishment. It reminded me of The Otter and The Spring River. I believe they should add the Marston's logo, but overall, I had a great experience and will definitely be returning. I highly recommend this place for a meal, 10/10.
