I went with friends for coffee early a Sunday morning after the arrival at night. they still brought out the chairs when we saw that at that time only a few places were open. the waitress was friendly and helpful...and was attentive to my very limited french. the place was clean and comfortable. I wouldn't say it was cheap 9 euro for 3 cafe-au-Lait's, but then maybe that's the cure in caen. I'm not sure. they didn't do breakfast because it was a Sunday that surprised us, but if that was so, I would definitely go back if I found myself in the opposite. only no 5* evaluation because we never had to taste it. Apart from that, it was great.
I went here with friends for coffee early one Sunday morning after just arriving on the overnight ferry. They were still putting out the chairs when we saw the place very few places were open at that time. The waitress was friendly and helpful...and was considerate towards my very limited French. The place was clean and comfortable too. I wouldn't say it was cheap euros for café au lait's but then maybe that's the going rate in Caen. I'm not really sure. They weren't doing breakfasts because it was a Sunday which took us by surprise, but if that's the way it is... Would definitely go back if I find myself in the area again. Only not giving a rating because we never got to sample the food. Other than that, it was great.

Bayeux is a must-see: cathedral, tapestry, and the Musee de la Bataille will take a few hours, and should be done before the pilgrimage to the beaches.
