What Nico Schuster doesn't like about Gasthaus Weinlander:
Ich wollte neulich mit meiner Familie spontan gegen 18 Uhr zum Essen einkehren und erkundigte mich qua TA ob geöffnet ist. Da uns 17-23 Uhr zugesichert wurde, nahmen wir den Umweg auf uns und entdeckten in der dunklen Gaststätte nur den Hinweis, es sei wegen Urlaub geschlossen. Wenn man sich darauf nicht verlassen kann, wozu hat man heute allerorten mobiles Internet?? View all feedback.
My German friend takes me here every time I'm in the area for work. Service is always gracious, and food is across-the-board fantastic. The Schäufele is excellent. They are even able to make accomodations for vegans. Best to call for reservations.
In the franconian countryside you will find a gem! Its MON FRI, delicious dishes not overpriced. Advisable to call for reservation. Sitting in a small guestroom, also garden.... friendly staff, lovely beer and firewater! Look at home page to see menu, FRI set...menu
This locale is rather small but what it lacks in space it makes up for in quality of food. This establishment has some of the best traditionally frankonian food available for modest prices. The restaurant is family run and although the owner might appear a...bit imposing at times, once you smile and open up to him he will become your best friend. When you order and don't want to immediately quench your thirst, just order a Schnitt (half a beer), it will be served with extra foam on top and is just the right amount so that the beer stays cool until you finish it (also only costs half the full glass price). The fixed menu can be found in the small menu card on the table but the best dishes will be the seasonal specialties which are displayed on the walls. I would highly recommend trying the Schweinsbraten or the Entenbrüst.
Yeah we have been there because we have been told it is a good restaurant. We should have warned because it is closed on sundays a competitior said obviously they have enough money OK on the next day we went again to the restaurant....The service lady was friendly and helpful. The owner family wasnt. In addition when we entered the restaurant the looks we got only said Give me your money, eat, shut up and leave as early as possible again At the end the bill was counted by hand and wrong at our table. Therefore the lady went back and counted alone again. At the end a price was found we could agree on. Not questionable was the food. It was quite good. Nevetheless we will not come back again. There are other good restaurants around. But you can try it by yourself make your own experience.
We were many. The dishes had were varied. The menu was not vast but broad enough for most tastes. The backers stood out as did the schäufele. Local wines were excellent. The desserts were imaginative and impressive we had chocolate mousse with ice creams and...small layers of various sauces. The atmosphere was warm and the staff jolly. The best bit is when the waiting staff give you the bill. They sit at your table with a pen and blank pad. The ask what you had, wtite these down with the price, add up each and present you with their list.
