It is worth driving 20 minutes on the mountain. we had such a fun evening meal, from raw beef starters to all that they can eat owners own borrasao beef, plus sausage, carrots and salat. Some of the best beef we have ever eaten! local wines...and liars, while not high quality, added much lightness to our experience. and eating was just €15.

The location is great, one of my favorite places in cabreira mountain chain in a small isolated village. it can be complicated to find the location, Google cards was a little confused. the restaurant is located in a renovated house and has two etagens with. there is not much atmosphere or decoration, it is a place made to welcome large groups or families especially during the weekend) and it can be full and loud. I would recommend going during a weekday. the meat was very tender “Karne assada” or mixed grill) and there was no other choice at the weekend beside meat or “feijoada” red beans,) so that no place for vegetarian. portions are huge. the dessert “doce da casa” homemade sweet) was really disappointing. “Doce da casa” should always be the best one can offer from the kitchen and not a kind of industry sweetness without taste or originality. cheesecake served other customers looked better. total tasca do pinhão deserves a visit only if they really like meat) during a weekday maybe after a strenuous mountain in the mountain.

This restaurant is a pearl, in a location you would least expect to find it: a little village of 16 inhabitants, right on top of Serra da Cabreira, away from any built up area. And it is located in an old building beautifully recovered by...an architect with good taste and proportion, making full use of the local setting and view. The restaurant is owned by a very friendly and warm local couple who cook and serve, aided by a local girl, all providing a spectacular service. The owner has his own cattle which he uses two provide the restaurant with fresh goods. For those who like meat the dishes are huge in quantity and even bigger in quality! My wife tried the famous Posta Barrosã which she says was outstanding. I do not eat meat so I had the Bacalhau Racheado , a most amazing salted cod dish, which was delicious. The bread served for starters is top quality, particularly the traditional corn and rye broa . The home made desserts are highly recommended, in particular the Pudim de Bolacha . The wine served as the house recommended standard Montes Ermos is fantastic. A full meal, with two huge dishes, bread, olives, wine, desserts and coffees (with the offer of a glass of aguardente at the end of the meal costed us €20.00!!! Why bother go to the supermarket? : The village, Torrinheiras, is located less than 1 km off the N311 road that links Cabeceiras de Basto with Salto at the North and there is a well visible plaque with the name of the restaurant below the Torrinheiras sign. I you are in the area, do not yourself a favor and do not miss it!!!

Located in a small picturesque village, it was a great surprise. Meat of own production and an optimum quilting and good plate of cod. homemade desserts. I will repeat the visit.
