Tables inside and out, contemporary design but not at all formal. Very friendly staff and good pizzas but a wide mixture of other dishes too (I had a delicious goat's cheese salad!). Reasonably priced. We didn't pre-book and were lucky to get a table outside. Outdoor heaters. View all feedback.
What Nicolas Hempel doesn't like about Restaurant L'Oryx:
Saturday evening, 6 pm, 2 mums, 4 children under 4, only customers. Served by v courtesy waitress. Each glass of wine ordered to share a bottle of foam water, 2 pizzas. We were then asked to leave the manager unless we ordered more food. We said we didn't want to stay long with the young children, but we would order 3 pizzas and we wanted to follow crepes in addition. The manager starts picking up our filled glasses... It's been over a year since I was last in this restaurant. The second time it was just as good as the first. The staff was really charming and at midday the place was very well protected by the locals. That's always a good sign. I love pizza, so I chose the Big Beouf Pizza again. I have to say I didn't have a better pizza anywhere else. It was really excellent. I washed it with a carafe of the Merlot at 9.50 euros for 50 cl. Excellent value. Luckily I had room for a pudding, so had some pots of ice.! The decor is modern (mainly back and white) and very clean. Well worth a visit and very good value for money. Would I go back? Certainly when I was in the area.

In the end, we asked the pizzas to go. If we had no children, walking would have been much easier. A terrible attitude that ruined our evening.
My family visited here today. Had fantastic service by Jeremy and the pizza and crepe were gorgeous. My kids voted it the best crepe of the week!
When we arrived for lunch the place was completely full inside and out, but they found us a table inside after about ten minutes and although they were very busy the service and friendliness of the staff was excellent. When our food came it was well cooked and presented and our visit overall was a very pleasant experience. The toilets were immaculately clean and catered well for disabled people which very important for us. Would certainly return.
To us this looked like the nicest place along the main shopping road that did pizzas, gilettes, and crepes. It's all very modern inside, for a French restaurant, and all the staff were super friendly and welcoming. We actuall visited twice, once for dinner and two days later for lunch. We both had gilettes the first time, and pasta and salad dishes the second time. All the food and wine was tasty, excellent value for money, and the service was friendly, excellent, and consistent on both occasions. We will definitely visit again when we're in Cabourg and recommend it with confidence.
