What User doesn't like about Monte's Steak Seafood:
The restaurant was lovely and had a romantic atmosphere. However, I was disappointed with the shrimp fettuccine I ordered. It was overly creamy and heavily seasoned with salt. This made it difficult for me to fully enjoy the dish. Despite this, I felt that the price I paid ($24.95) was reasonable for the overall experience. View all feedback.

We will never go back to Monte's on the Reservoir. Despite our desire to support local businesses, our experience was disappointing. The wait time was acceptable, but we were seated in a dark and dirty booth. Both of us ordered steaks, which turned out to be a mistake. The thin Bourbon Street steak was swimming in a strange sauce, and the baked potatoes were undercooked. My wife's steak was full of gristle and covered in an unknown sauce, making it nearly inedible. Even our butter knives struggled to cut through it. When we questioned the waitress about the quality of the steak, she responded aggressively. My wife couldn't eat a bite. We asked for the dish to be removed from our bill, prompting the waitress to confront the cook in a loud and unprofessional manner. Eventually, she offered us a replacement steak, but we declined. Despite this, I ended up paying for half of my meal. At $50 per person, we regret not going to Tico instead.
There wasn't much to applaud about our experience at this restaurant. The salad consisted of a few wilted leaves and some carrot shavings, all drowned in a mediocre dressing. The entree we ordered from the seafood and fish menu was disappointing. Both my partner and I ordered different dishes, but they tasted identical, drenched in the same overpowering sauce that resembled a bisque. The vegetables were also smothered in this sauce, which was heavy on the salt. The prices were high considering the lackluster quality of the food. We won't be returning. On a positive note, the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating.
I agree with nikkis criticism from februar 2022. wynndale steak house was packed so we decided to give montes an attempt. my wife looked at the menu and must have found the TripAdvisor menu which is wrong. we thought sirloins were $15, but they turned out to be over $30. I was recently diagnosed as a diabetic, so I must be selective with what I have chosen to eat now. I chose one of the Redfish options with crab meat, but asked them to replace a sweet potato for pasta. they did, but they calculated a surcharge for this. the fish came also with mixed vegetables with a sauce that was only ok. I ate the salat of my wife, who was pitiful: a small green (and brown) salate, which was sprinkled with carrots and nothing else. I separated all brown pieces of salat and left them on my sauce. my wife had the sirloin and asked for the sauce on the side. it was delivered with the sauce on the steak. the steak had no great taste with the sauce. the only really good part of this experience was that we saw friends we had not seen in a few years. if they are in the opposite, my recommendation is to look elsewhere.
When I heard we’d try Monte’s for the first time, I carefully studied the mouth-watering online photos of their menu fare. So my expectations were running high with anticipation. But their REAL menu — which is NOT POSTED outside their front door — will reveal a much smaller selection of dishes in reality. My friend ordered a simple steak, baked potato, and a serving of mixed vegetables. The price was 44 for this three-item plate. A small salad was included: The salad consisted of two ingredients: a handful of iceberg lettuce and one teaspoon of diced carrot. The first three salad dressings I requested were not available. The house dressing is Thousand Island with a touch of red pepper. Very little choice for your plain few bites of lettuce. We arrived at 5 PM, the opening time for dinner. I had to ask the one-and-only waitress to turn on the heat, after all it’s cold in February! The menu says tea is available, either hot or cold, but HOT means that lunchtime’s leftover tea is warmed up in the microwave. The steak was served drowned in a thick sauce which would have been better served in a small dish on the side so the consumer could have decided for himself how much sauce to pour over his steak. As for decor — I did not see any whatsoever. The small dining area has a picture or two of a flower on the wall. — but there is no theme, no charm, nothing at all interesting TO LOOK AT in this restaurant.
