The BBQ here is tasty, but the experience lacks true Southern hospitality. The staff is rude and unfriendly.
This restaurant isn't anything extraordinary, but it's a great spot for a quick meal. The decor is definitely minimalist yet has a cozy vibe.
Ok local bbq restaurant. Staff was friendly and food was ok. Went for lunch a little after 12 noon and ordered the bbq chicken plate. Was told they didnt make the bbq chicken yet. Ordered the pulled pork instead. Turnip geens were canned, but cole slaw and bbq was ok.
I visited BBQ Barn around dinner time with my daughter, both of us craving a meal that included a hearty entrée and vegetables. BBQ Barn was the only place offering that combination. I arrived about half an hour before closing, and while I understand the server was likely tired, she didn’t greet me warmly or seem interested in making the experience pleasant. When the entrée I wanted was sold out, she didn’t suggest any alternatives or offer any menu guidance. It was clear she lacked customer service training, especially when I asked if the hot dogs were all beef and she admitted she didn’t know because she doesn’t eat them. Basic knowledge about the menu should be standard, regardless of personal preferences. Despite limited interaction, the food itself was good, and I’m willing to give them another chance hoping their service improves. I appreciate that BBQ Barn employs young people, which is great, but they definitely need better training in customer relations. Small details in service can make a big difference in whether customers return and recommend the place or not. I also noticed some distance among the staff, possibly related to family ties in the kitchen, which might affect teamwork. Overall, BBQ Barn offers well-prepared food, and I hope they focus on enhancing their staff training so these young employees can better represent the restaurant and provide a more welcoming experience.
