We loved the food, service and the interior spacious, bright and light yet comfortable and with some character. For our lunch we chose the sandwiches both the fresh and the toasted options; and for a sweet treat after we enjoyed a pot of a really good Earl Grey, and both scones with jam cream and vanilla slice (in NZ we call them custard slices). The cafe is ideally located between the bus and train stations and Bury... View all feedback.
What fridaydiners doesn't like about Lilly Kings Tea Room:
I recently ate at this restaurant and found it to be quite basic with plenty of seating. The establishment used to be a chip shop. The coffee was nothing special. Overall, I don't plan on returning. View all feedback.
The restaurant was too loud! I met a friend for a quick lunch and coffee, but it was extremely noisy. We had to shout at each other just to have a conversation. My plea to the owner is to please lower the volume of the music - it's a cafe, not a nightclub! Additionally, the hot pot was disappointing as the meat seemed cheap. If you're going to use minced meat and charge around five pounds per portion, please use a better quality butcher!

Delicious..... cannot highly recommended this place enough, friendly staff, quick service and happy to change our orders to put an extra big smile on our children's faces
I visited the restaurant with my young grandson, and we only had about 25 minutes before our bus departed. Despite there being four staff members visible, only one was serving customers. The two people in front of me in line were taking their time and paid with a card, so it took over 10 minutes before I was finally served. I ended up just ordering a pot of tea, while my grandson had a scone. The menu was diverse, but I found the prices to be a bit high for Bury.
I came here for lunch with my 2 yr old daughter and my mother. First impressions were great nice and bright with lots of space. i ordered a plain cheese sandwich for my daughter and 2 tuna paninis for myself and my mum. when we sat down after ordering the table behind us was complaining that they had been waiting some time for food and were ignored whilst other customers were served. after waiting about 20 mins again i add for 3 sandwiches, i asked how much longer it may be as my daughter was becoming very agitated and hungry it took them a further 20 mins to bring out my daughters cheese sandwich and a further 5 to bring out the 2 remaining sandwiches. i will also add that the table to the side of us had ordered a hot meal after us and received theres before we did. i wish i would have settled for greggs would have been a lot cheaper and certainly a lot faster, i counted 5 staff member working and they could make 3 sandwiches in less than 45 mins i received no apology really not good.
