The Winery - Burton upon Trent

I think the restaurant has updated their vegan/vegetarian menu in the past year. There are some really good options such as the mushroom and pepper risotto and the mushroom wellington. I also enjoyed the spring rolls starter. I didn't give it a five-star rating because I think there could be more options available. Additionally, I deducted one star on my last visit because the risotto was too watery and didn't taste as good as it had in the past.

Be sure to make a reservation online or by phone before your visit as this restaurant gets very busy! The venue has a charming character and must look beautiful during the day. The staff are friendly and polite, even when busy. Be sure to ask for the Vegetarian/Vegan menu which has great options for vegetarians, but only 2 or 3 choices per course for vegans. The food was delicious and well prepared, and the wait time was reasonable. I highly recommend trying the cocktails as they have a large selection, but not all are vegan so be sure to inquire.
