Bento Box - Burnie

Omg. Best place (mainly only place) in burnie to get a Japanese fix. Their sushi is AMAZING

The best thing about this place is probably the price and the fact is it’s cooked as you order, so the food always come out piping hot, which is great! The downside is I feel like the portions are quite small (maybe compared to the size of the box, like even the rice is just a thin layer of evenly spreaded out, rather than like a full bowl), and the wait is usually quite long for cooked food. But yeah the price is very reasonable.

As someone who’s never had Japanese cuisine before my knowledge of it is very limited so you can imagine my shock when I went into the Bento Box in Burnie asked the short lady with glasses at the counter if avocado were in their sushi rolls (I’m allergic to avocado) instead of answering me she looked at me like I was the the biggest inconvenience to her. She made me feel bad so I just left. I’ve heard their food is fantastic but because of terrible service I got I didn’t get to try the food. I’m planning to visit the Bento Box in Devonport next week i hope their staff are a lot better than in Burnie

Writing a review on the behalf of my mum. Orderd here from Menulog last night and the food arrived charcoal black and was missing a chicken don in the order. Requested a refund on only the missing item and were told it's not their fault and they can't give me a refund. Go take it up with menulog. But menulog aren't at fault as they claim, they just deliver the food. She was a frequent customer but says she will no longer eat there sadly.

I'd come back to Burnie just for this fried chicken don! The sauce may look too much in the photo but the balance between the sauce, rice and fried chicken is perfect!
