Happen in the area , it is a while since my last visit , dropped in for later lunch , it is not your elegant or high end restaurant , but decor like the 90 's diner , big space, cozy, airy and good family value , very quiet ! no welcome feeling , very dead atmosphere , no problem with the Covid 19 guidelines , menu not too over size , surprised lot of choices , I order the Half Chicken Dinner with salad , it just me... What Melissa Barros doesn't like about Swiss Chalet:
We were there for Mother's Day yesterday. Two of us had the chicken pot pie and they said it was chock full of chicken and they really enjoyed it. One had the 1/4 chicken dinner but was served the chicken breast instead of the leg/thigh that he had ordered. I had the spinach salad. It was a big salad but 99% greens. It said it came with mushrooms, mandarin orange slices etc, but they were very few and far between. Th... View all feedback.
A good choice of menu at reasonable prices combined with good drinks menu and a happy service made this a favourite diner of ours for a few nights, not disappointed once and only a short stroll to our digs at accent inns
Wasn't expecting michelin star, but food here was pretty poor. I normally like swiss chalet, but both the chicken and ribs in my combo were really dry, had been left cooking or sitting waaaay too long. Service was swift and friendly, which was nice.
One of the lunch staples for our office. The service is quick and the food consistently good. The take out counter is great when you just walk in and order there. Unfortunately you have to use their corporate call centre to order in advance and that's a headache, they never get it right. Wish you could order with your restaurant directly.
In the past, this has always been my fav place to eat, but the last few times it seems to have gone downhill. The other day I went for dinner and noticed that instead of the breast that they always give you, I received a thigh, and not as much meat as usual, and the fries usually are abundant, but they have cut the size down. The music was geared for young people and other than the staff, everyone had grey hair, not a very good environment for having a relaxing dinner. I probably will not go back to this location.
When I can't decide where I want to eat, my "can't go wrong option" is Swiss Chalet. Swiss Chalet's menu is full of comfort food. The chicken is always delicious and you can't beat the sauce. You get exactly what you expect at this restaurant. Nothing fancy but always fresh. The clientele is predominantly families and seniors. I don't know why young adults avoid this place. I think they're all down at Earls' next door where the prices are high, the food is ok and you can't hear yourself think. Swiss Chalet always provides good value. As I grew up in eastern Canada I'm very familiar with St Hubert BBQ which is now owned by Swiss Chalet. They're similar and either way you can't go wrong.
