Just what we were craving on a coolish March evening: perfectly spiced Szechuan food. Very pleasant service and surroundings. And a Happy Easter to us as we left! Couldn't have been better! View all feedback.

I made a mistake with this meal and I believe it was my own fault. I didn't choose the right dishes, but I will give this restaurant another try in the future to potentially change my star rating. View all feedback.
The Peking Restaurant is an unprepossessing establishment. The décor is simple and the furniture is functional. This being my first visit I was struck by the familiarity of the restaurant with the eateries that I frequented on Pender Street during the 1960's. My friends and I were greeted by a friendly server and seated at an open table. By the time our tea came we had decided on ordering the shrimp rice, ginger hot pot, beef and broccoli, and three sea foods chow mein. .After a short wait our food arrived piping hot from the kitchen. The servings were generous and the food was nicely cooked and tasty. When the bill came we were pleased with the modest price. We all felt that we had received excellent value for our time and money. I will definitely return for a another meal to try some of the other tempting dishes on the menu.

Enjoyed the dim sum ,our service was great very friendly ,food was fresh and tasty .the price was very reasonable.
Two small bowls of Won Ton Soup arrived shortly after our order had gone to the kitchen - three plump dumplings floating in a tasty broth dotted with sesame oil.The Chow Mein - beef with black bean sauce on crispy noodles - was well-sauced with lots of green peppers and onions. It was deliciously savoury with crunchy noodles. The Honey Garlic Spareribs "Montreal Style" "(button bones", the trim ends of the actual spareribs) were heavily breaded, very garlicky, but I doubt whether any honey had been used to make the ribs sweet and sticky. It was probably sugar - but that's a little picky! The Green Onion Pancake was the best version we have tasted in years - deliciously deep-fried and perfectly crispy. One of us loved the pancake on its own while I thought there could have been more green onions for my taste but the pancake dipped in black bean sauce was terrific. The meal was tasty, well-cooked and great value for money. While the restaurant itself is physically a little tired, it is worth a return visit to explore the menu further.
My family helped move my mother into an assisted residence, we were hot, tired and very hungry...at the Peking Restaurant, we got cold refreshments, and great food, served by the most polite server/ perhaps co-owner...Chinese or otherwise, that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting! His politeness in perfect English...please, thank you, you're welcome, enjoy....and ALL genuine! What a sincere pleaure it was having him., I'm sorry I didn't take his name...serve us!This on top of the restaurant being very clean and bright, even the washrooms! The food was authentic Chinese and very good. The price was even good. Since this is fairly close to my mother's new place, this will become our new family dinner restaurant!
