Great dumplings and soup. BBQ duck was generous. Like the pink vinegar with the pan fried dumplings. Don't expect fancy though. It's good cheap eats. Also easy to get to by bus. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Paul's Restaurant:
Ordered a burger that took 45 minutes to arrive and tasted like fat exploding in my mouth. My husband ordered a chicken dish, but appeared to be some other protein. We didn't eat a lot and left as soon as possible. View all feedback.
Stopped in for lunch.... The kids were at Dolphin Theatre watching a movie and my tummy was grumbling. Popcorn didn 't suit my hunger. I walked up the street looking and discovered the KFC was closed. I kept walking thinking 'maybe McDonald 's? '.<br/ <br/ Good thing I stopped and peeked. Paul 's Restaurant is a quiet little Ma Pa type of restaurant. Owned by a Chinese family they serve Chinese AND Canadian food. <br/ <br/ Today, I had their chicken club sandwich with fries. I figured it was quick and easy. The order came out within five minutes of me ordering. I thought: 'Huh, kind of fast? '. The chicken was super moist, hot (temperature wise) and flavorful...something you don 't find with most restaurants. Stacked tall with big slices of tomatoes, crispy lettuce and extra (burnt) bacon. Too bad, I like bacon just a little limp. The fries were your basic Costco brand fries. <br/ <br/ The old decor of Chinese painting like my great grandparent brought from China mixed in with the brown siding and aged lighting makes Paul 's Restaurant kind of roomy like old Chinatown. I kind like it. More people should stop by instead of going to those fast food joints.
So good. Despite the old school decor this place is a gem. If you're looking for that hole in the wall best food for respectable prices then Paul's is your place to go. Chinese food lunch combos for under $8, and good luck finishing it or try out there Canadian food, Deluxe Burger and fries for $4.95... how can you go wrong with the home made patty cooked on the flat top so you get that flavor crust all on a toasted delicious bun. I had the burger and fries and started with a small Won Ton soup (which wasn't small) and walked out of there under $10 and needing a nap. I wouldn't need the won ton to start but it's so good and why not for only $3.50? Paul's is a great little spot for lunch or dinner, you will see me there every Friday that's for sure.
This restaurant is consistently excellent and has a very welcoming atmosphere. My spouse and I have been frequenting this establishment for almost half a year as a special indulgence. The prices are unbeatable, and the food is deliciously home-cooked (my personal favorite is the preserved egg and pork congee). The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. We always have a pleasant dining experience here, although our credit card may not always agree!
We were delighted to visit Paul's last night for the first time since the tragedy. The restaurant and menu have been updated, and we were greeted by new faces who provided excellent service. We ordered a dinner for 4 along with lettuce wraps and were blown away by the delicious corn soup that arrived first. The soup was piping hot, creamy, and had enough for 10 people in the bowl. The lettuce wraps and remaining dishes for the family combo were also delicious and fresh, with distinct flavors in each dish. Our group, with big appetites, ended up taking home leftovers because the portion sizes were generous. We are thrilled to have Paul's back and look forward to visiting again soon!
This restaurant is absolutely fantastic! The prices are great for the delicious, huge, and hearty home-cooked meals they serve. My mom used to come here for school lunches and passed on this tradition to me. I have brought many friends to Paul's and everyone has had a great experience. The only issue I have had recently is trying to place a takeout order and not getting an answer when I call. I really hope the restaurant hasn't shut down because I would be heartbroken to not have one last Paul's super deluxe burger. They freshly grind sirloin for each order, making the patty alone worth the $5.75 price, which includes the burger, all the toppings, fried onions, and fries or a salad.
