This cafe is so charming and beautifully decorated! It feels like I'm in a Ghibli movie when I'm here. The space is a bit small, so it can fill up quickly. If you plan on dining in, it's best to go earlier. I tried the omurice with demiglace and it was good, although not outstanding. I also had the refreshing melona drink and some delicious cheese tarts. I wanted to try a teaccino but they were out of cheese foam. Ov... View all feedback.
What Andrea Reinen doesn't like about Ki Tea House Cafe:
My favorite dish was the Okonomiyaki Waffle, a unique combination of savory toppings on a freshly made waffle, paired with the delicious soft serve.
The service was exceptional, although it can be slow during busy times. The restaurant has a beautiful interior design with a forest theme, complete with trees, green decor, and a touch of fairytale charm. There is also a wall of Manga books for guests to read while din... View all feedback.
The melona and brown sugar drink were amazing but the pearls/boba were too hard for my taste. The matcha roll cake was a bit too dry even with the cream filling. Tiramisu was yummy! Would come back again to try other drinks and food!
Cute cafe with loads of manga on one wall. Between the five of us, we ordered four savory dishes, two drinks, and two parfaits. This amounted to about $20/person. I wish the chicken waffles (which was my favourite) came with the salad that's pictured instead of the bit of coleslaw we got instead. I thought the food overall was enjoyable, though nothing particularly special. The drinks, while not bad, were slightly underwhelming, especially considering the price. The matcha latte was a touch weak.

There is also a wall of Manga books for guests to read while dining. It's important to note that laptop usage and studying are not allowed, and there is no wifi provided. During busy times, guests are limited to a one hour stay. I would recommend this restaurant, especially for manga fans and those looking for a photo-worthy moment.
Ki Cafe might very well be the most charming cafe in Burnaby or even Greater Vancouver. Our daughter was certainly charmed by it. Mostly because of the Manga! There are several large shelves against the wall in this cafe, filled with Manga books. Our daughter is going through a bit of a Manga phase right now so she was quite taken with the Manga shelves and really wants to come back to this place again. On to the main event though. The dessert, because this place is a dessert cafe. You can get a wide variety of desserts here. Cake, cheese tarts, waffles and bubble teas are amongst the many treats they offer. If you're not in the mood for sweets, they do also have a few savoury items on their menu including Omurice and Karaage Don.Ki Cafe is currently participating in the Vancouver Ice Cream Festival. While our daughter ordered a Melona Ice drink, I decided to try the Vancouver Ice Cream Festival offering: Purple U Parfait. It's a gorgeous twist of Matcha soft serve with Ube soft serve. The two flavors were so beautifully intertwined with each other, and I loved all the wonderful toppings that came with it.Our Manga loving daughter is eager to come back here for the Manga, and I'm just as eager to go back for their yummy desserts!Service: GoodParking: Free parking on the streetLocation: #105-6888 Royal Oak Ave., Burnaby, BC
A bit disappointed by their demiglace omurice. I’m so sad too because I was so excited to try this place out. The photo made it look so good. But That is NOT a demiglace sauce. It’s very watery and lack the flavour of what a true demiglace is like. I was so excited to come by was met with disappointment. The rice was unfortunately also very bland. The egg texture was pretty good. The comic wall is cute but the comics are on the older side. No new series like demon slayer jujutsu or chainsaw man.Unfortunately, it means I won’t be back. Cute looking cafe though.
