I've had to ponder how to write this review. I've come to the conclusion I must have been having an off-day. I found the food a bit too spicy, and the background music a bit too loud. However, my two friends had no problems with these issues, and thoroughly enjoyed their meals, as did I. Friendly attentive staff, clean place. So, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt until next time; thanks mainly to the great job by... View all feedback.
What Albert D doesn't like about Browns Socialhouse:
My wife had gift certificates for Browns social house, thus we decided to try it. I ordered Thai soup, salt and pepper ribs, and chicken Ceasar salad. ribs appetizers were a good size. My salad could have been a little larger for what is costs. It was all good. Wife ordered a chicken fettuccine dish. She said she did not like it. She said the taste was off . Even her garlic bread was not up to her standards. The boys... View all feedback.
Service was great, our server other staff came by a few times to see if we needed anything. My friend ordered a breakfast dish and said it was excellent. I ordered chicken quesadilla and there was hardly any chicken in it, and the tortilla were too crispy. My meal was not that good, but the service was. I have plans to go again at another location, hopefully I order the right thing next time, maybe chicken wings, or a burger!
Not good, poor service, burgers were tasteless and awful, buns soggy, ran out of the special social lagers and only more expensive ones and poor customer service. Everything was rushed and main course dishes came out a minute after the starters were served, table was full. Never asked about the meal until it was time for a tip and quite expensive. When I spoke to the duty manager she said thank you for the feedback!!!!! Not going back. And not interested in giving more feedback by email.
There are a lot of restaurants that are pretty lax out there with Covid rules. Unfortunately I have to list Browns as one of them. I 've been going to this place for years. With my daughter, my family and my my friends. Granted, the happy hours appy 's are the worst on the planet currently, but it 's an easy go to. I went in a week ago and sat at the bar. Now there 's a bunch of old timer regulars who are there all the time. Anytime I have gone they are either there or they show up. No big deal. This time one of these guys with huge red nose shows up and plunks right down beside me a foot away, no mask, and no separating divider. Even with the divider, he should not be that close. So I said 'Whoa ' I think space is needed. Hold on. He looks at me and says in an annoyed tone. Ah s**t, I come here everyday like he owns the place . I ask the bartender, who is very sweet, if this is normal. She and another patron a dude who knows this dude apparently) indicate I can just slide a divider over. Still not okay but thats what they do while all the while old timer is muttering under his breath all pissed off. Am I inconveniencing everyone here? Did I end up in backwards world somehow? Most restaurants there is far more space 2-3 seats at least. In the end everyone is making sure old guy is okay. Unnacceptable. I ate quickly and left I cannot go back now. Completely uncool.
This place is within walking distance of sky train station (Brentwood) and off the Lougheed Highway. There were 6 of us ranging from vegetarian to meat eaters. The menu had a good variety of choices even for one picky eater who requested a tomato base sauce versus a cream sauce. Very accommodating! A perfect venue for any occasion. Our server was great. There’s complimentary 3 hour parking underground. A great place to go to considering there’s not many good places in that area.
