I love this restaurant, but I have one suggestion. Every time I've come in for brunch, the food is lukewarm to almost cold. The sauce for the eggs Benedict and the potatoes are always cold. However, the service, the overall food, and the ambiance are wonderful. My only suggestion is to warm up the food, please. View all feedback.
What Rita Rolfson doesn't like about Trattoria Italian Kitchen - Burnaby:
Went in early on a Friday evening when neither kitchen or wait staff appeared to be overly busy. We ordered drinks and the Signature Pasta Platter to share. Service was prompt and congenial, drinks served quickly. Of the four pastas served on the platter though,...only two were still hot when it arrived. We had assumed that at 2.5 times the price of an average entree that platter would feed us both reasonably well. S... View all feedback.
Worst time I've ever been a restaurant, I'm so disappointed by our server's actions and attitude. We are definitely not coming back:
We were seated in the room to the left and were pleasantly impressed with the nice quiet atmosphere. Service was excellent. The meals were perfect. We like this place.
I've been here several times and it never disappoints. The food was delicious and service prompt and attentive. Will definitely return.
When we first arrived we were pleased that even without a reservation we’re able to sit at the bar. Our first contact with our waitress was quick but from that point forward everything was so slow. Slow to take our order. Slow to refill our...drinks. Really slow to get our appetizers and then a minute after the appetizer, our entrees arrived. The chicken Marsala special was tasty but lukewarm and the potatoes with it were cold. We were just happy to finally have our good and ate quickly and left. Bummer.
Spaghetti and meatballs! Re-visiting a classic and this didn’t disappoint. The spaghetti was perfectly cooked al dente and loved their spicy tomato basil sauce (with added chili flake of course). The herbed ricotta was a nice balance to the richness of the meatballs and sauce....Next is their linguine carbonara with a nice blend of pancetta, scallions, egg and Parmesan cheese. Also had their simple but excellently executed margherita pizza. Their wood fired oven made for a beautifully cooked crust.
