The Sea Shanty Fish & Chips

My boyfriend introduced me to this place last month and it instantly became my new favourite! Today we went again for the Tuesday haddock & chips special

Sea Shanty is one of those feel good fish and chip shops.

This place is AMAZINGMy mom has been calling talking to me about fish & chips for months before she finally came to visit and found this quaint spot.

I read good reviews for their fish and chips and we decided to give them a try for dinner last night. We both ordered the halibut and chips with a side of coleslaw and gravy and 2 cans of pop. With tip and tax the bill was over $60. The chips, gravy, and coleslaw were good. But the halibut was not - the batter was tasteless and the fish was horrible. Halibut usually has a mild taste, but this was very strong and tasted "off". Neither of us could finish our meals. We went straight home and were glad we had more than one bathroom when we got there. We were both sick. We were the only customers in the restaurant on a Thursday evening at 6 pm - I guess there was a reason for that!

We use to eat here alot about 4 years ago and it was pretty good,I recommended this place to alot of people! I went back this good Friday after 4 years and I must say I was very disappointed ! I had the halibut and it had a funny taste to it..... The fries were over crispy and scarce...Quite expensive for a one person lunch....I am sorry to say I will never go back :(
