I recently participated in the Jakes Ladies Golf Tournament and was extremely impressed by the warm and efficient service provided by the organizers, staff, and volunteers. It was a wonderful day of golf, followed by tasty appetizers, drinks, and a satisfying main course back at Jakes. What Mark S doesn't like about Jakes Grill & Oyster House Inc:
The fried dishes had a burnt flavor, possibly from being cooked in rancid oil. After a storm, the restaurant had computer problems which made it impossible for us to pay with credit card or cash. Even after waiting for over 30 minutes, we were only given a small beverage, which they still charged us for. This was the most disappointing dining experience we had during our two-week trip. Amazing, amazing, amazing!!! Atmosphere was excellent and cozy! Service was EXCELLENT!! Food was soooooo yummy!! Omg!! I am in love with it!!! Cobb Salad with grilled Salmon and seafood chowder soup were the best I have ever had!
I must admit when I first drove into the parking lot and saw Jake's sitting next to a hotel, I was leery (my experience with these has been hit or miss). Well, let me just tell you, I'm glad I didn't turn around and leave.Phenomenal is an understatement. At the recommendation of Sara J, I tried the Snake Bite Salmon which was seasoned and wood grilled, glazed with Jake's Snakebite sauce, and served over sweet potato gratin. I'm from the southern United States and we often eat our sweet potatoes with brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter. This gratin didn't need it. It was somehow shaved thin as paper and I ate every single bite! The charred lemon and side veggies, which were a mix of fresh zucchini, red peppers, and small carrots (that looked and tasted like they'd just been harvested) is like a party in your mouth, ha!Oh, and Sara was so gracious. I got distracted talking with her and didn't realize I hadn't added a tip yet. I was mortified as I ALWAYS tip! I tried to get her to figure out a way to run my credit card again, but she assured me our conversation was enough and that it really was ok.I'm only here for a few days, but I plan to return at least one more time, ask for her, and make that up to her! ?Just go. You won't regret it!
The best fish tacos on the planet! Excellent service! Highly recommend.
LOVE Jakes!!! I don't get in this neighborhood too often but this is the place to go, when I am! Get the fish tacos!!
LOVE this place. Great food, excellent service, and not far from home and I'm pretty sure Jeffrey Dean Morgan works there :
