Carrigan Arms - Burlington

This pub has live music and we attended for a Sunday matinee specifically to see JayDee Bixby. We were not disappointed. The music was good, the food was good, and the service was excellent. Nice little neighbourhood pub conveniently located to where we live. Would like to see the speakers turned down a bit and then it would be overall excellent. The poutine and nachos were excellent.

Waitress first asked if we had tickets (for the show). Said we just wanted to eat and go. They allowed us to stay since it was before 7pm and the show didn't start until 9pm. Waitress never asked how the meal was and then when I asked for the bill she forgot, took ten minutes to get her attention while she was sampling a friend/customers food.Owner, Deb walking around with a beer in hand chatting with customers. Not a classy dive.Fish & chips OK..

So I have visited here once and only one time. It was sadly not on Saturday night when it's a Gay Bar. Being a young gay Adult it is hard finding other gay men in burlington. It's a judgemental city to be gay or lesbian in. I hope to attend one night and meet some gay men my age :)

Reviewing a number of restaurants recently, I have finally found some good fish and chips. Light crisp batter and a huge piece of fish inside. Staff are great. We have been there many times for great food experiences. Staffers actually sit and chat, nice relaxed atmosphere.

Visiting family in Brantford and they suggested thIs little pub in Burlington for a Sunday afternoon We went today and what a great surprise with the food. Everything is homemade, including the fabulous pirogues. The owner knows everyone's name and greets all - makes you feel that you are the most important person in there. Country bands play on Sunday and they were good, plus their first guest was amazing. What a fantastic afternoon we had. Great food, great entertainment, and great company.
