August First - Burlington
August First
Description
Nestled in Burlington, August First Bakery boasts an inviting atmosphere, airy seating, and delicious baked goods, notably their maple biscuits and Italian sandwiches. While many patrons rave about the fresh, homemade bread and scrumptious breakfasts, others express disappointment over inconsistent service and long wait times for orders. Some customers also criticize the "no laptop" policy, feeling it may be enforced unfairly. Despite the occasional service hiccup, the bakery remains a popular choice, particularly for those seeking a cozy spot to enjoy quality coffee and pastries without digital distractions.

10/10 The sandwiches are out of this world. It is no surprise that this place was recommended to us by quite a few people. Did not get a chance to try their baked goods, apart from the bread in sandwiches. Tried the Eat the east, their cumin sauce/curry is delicious. Definitely the crowning jewel of the place in my opinion. The avocado toast was splendid; we loved it. Their avocado sandwich was also quite good; I am not a fan of olives so it was not for me but definitely good. The only dish
I liked that they had plenty of outdoor seating. They were busy so there’s a wait to order and another wait to get your food. A bit unimpressed by their sandwich. $15 for a sandwich on a small baguette. The ingredients were fresh at least, I just wish the sandwich was bigger. They have one vegan sandwich on the menu. They accept cards at least. The bread was good at least, but I wouldn’t come back.
One of the best sandwiches I've ever had! The Vermonter is simple, yet complex with the apricot/tomato jam on the bread. Great blueberry muffin! Had to take a few muffins for the road because they were so good. Great atmosphere with dividers all over the restaurant for COVID safety!
