Ruby + Green - BURLEIGH HEADS

The food here is quality. If I was a chef, it would drive me to the brink the lack in service skills found in the Gold Coast. So really, if you are comparing only the Gold Coast to other Gold Coast restaurants /cafes - we have a standard cafe here. You order your food at the counter, which must mean you take any seat you like as we stood at the door for sometime before being acknowledged, and service is not required. Perhaps we were hard to see? Meals do take a long time to eventuate from the kitchen so best to visit when you have nothing planned after. Then you can sit and watch ... When the food does arrive the meals are fresh, tasty and well presented. We had the green breakfast bowl , ultra clean bowl and soup of the day. Asked for dressing on the side and an egg added to the ultra clean bowl... received dressing in the bowl and the egg in the side ... okaaaaay The waitress didn't know what the soup of the day was. But after asking she figured that out. This cafe doesn't served filtered water complimentary to tables. It's tap. This is a cafe promoting it's clean foods .. why on earth isn't it serving filtered water to tables ??? Who in their right mind drinks Tap water in Queensland ? The waitress wasn't sure if it was Tap or filtered water either. Had to ask. Wow. Come on Gold Coast. Sort it out. This is just another regular cafe with shoddy service, but great food. It doesn't cut the mustard and they won't be taking any more of my money. The kitchen has attention to detail but the rest is below standard. A kitchen doesn't make a restaurant. We need both aspects - kitchen AND service. If the staff are trained .. maybe it might last ... but ... in the mean time go elsewhere - so much choice in this area. Don't waste your money.

I had a wonderful breakfast at this restaurant. The menu offers a great variety of options, and I look forward to returning to try them all. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was clean. They also provide free WiFi and power outlets if needed. I highly recommend the potato rossi stack, as it was delicious.

Dined here with friends for lunch. No negatives. The food was delicious and there was a great selection of drinks. The atmosphere was very relaxed. Service was very friendly. Highly recommend the pork belly burger. Will be back.

Employ a qualified women with a disability such as epilepsy which is medicated then kick her to the kerb for no good reason, no menu copy I assume she was asking questions as she was in doubt. Bad service and bad comments behind backs. Clean place when stations are clean and at the end of the day. More communicating needed and less samples and trials.

Visited for brunch with a friend. Was interested in trying something on the menu with their charcoal brioche bun but sadly they had sold out so opted for the nourish bowl. Fresh ingredients and perhaps over simplified. 6 ingredients simply placed next to eachother, lacked pizzaz but if you are after fresh, quality simple whole food this is the place. Service was very slow but we had a table outside and enjoyed the sunshine, with nowhere to go in a rush, was not a problem.
