Karvin's Lunch - Burien

Overall, the food was good. I had their Veggie Omellete, Home Fried Potatoes with Multigrain Toast. The omellete is fluffly and good with lots of veggie ingredients. The potatoes were a bit dry, but had enough herbs for flavour. I always liked their buttered multigrain bread. Their coffee is good and endless. The best of all, what I look forward to when visiting this place are their staff members, Johnnie, the 49ers fan! and Jeff who no longer works there, I found out this morning. They were always pleasant and nice at every visit. This is a good place to eat for breakfast and lunch. A must try.

Good chilaquiles, though the steak that came with it was pretty fatty so I didn't get to finish the whole thing. Sunnyside Cafe is an improvment on Flap Jack's atmosphere (they play music instead of dining in silence! after the new owners took over, the quality of service from waitresses remains the same, the new hostess is very sweet. Still the same 70s breakfast place feel but cleaned up since the change of hands and a comfortable place to be. Menu is somewhat limited but has all the breakfast classics along with some Mexican offerings with nice presentation. I personally don't like huge breakfast menus with hundreds of choices, so it was perfect. The eggs were real good and I'm picky about them most of the time. No complaints except the rude old white woman waitress who was at Flap Jack's is still there.

I enjoyed it more when it was Flapjacks. My service Monday was lousy. The hostess ended up being our waitress. The actual waitress never even checked to see how we were doing. It took 10 minutes to get seated and another 20 before we even placed our order. The place was pretty packed and I saw customers leave without even ordering. I was pretty disappointed and my husband doesn 't want to go back.

For your very basic dinner this place is legit. It’s clean, the service was decent and the food above average for the type of place it is. I had the California burger and fries, it came out quick and well done. Lots of yummy toppings on the burger and parsley on the fries, which I love. I’d come again for sure. It’s a great spot for a decent meal in a kinda yucky part of town.

Food was decent, it's a normal dinner with no hype just honest food at a good price. I'm sure I'll be back again!!!
