The hotel is charming and well-preserved. It's clean and conveniently located within walking distance of the retail area in Bundanoon. The rail cutting helps to muffle train noise, which runs throughout the night, but it's surprisingly quiet. Overall, I would rate the rooms 4/5, the service 4/5, and the location 4/5. What Nathan Goldstein doesn't like about Bundanoon:
Looks nice upon arrival but we were let down by the room and service. The room had a queen sized mattress on a double bed base, which meant neither my wife or I slept well as the mattress was not properly supported. The owner took days to respond to our complaint about this and, when he did, said it was our fault we weren't comfortable, blamed another guest for having damaged the original mattress in the first place,... Bestwert motel in the highlands. central to a wonderful railway siding city, well managed, clean and spacious. all for a fraction of the cost of nearby “popular” cities.

Absolutely 10/10, we booked for a room, heater was on when we got there, room was warm, clean and bright. There is microwave and cutlery and even a capsule coffee machine in there, it was a lovely stay.
We have stayed there a few times now. Beautiful rooms, great staff. Super helpful. We just had big family gathering who traveled far and wide with young families and old farts as well. The owner graceously let us use the function room which made our weekend super. Highly recommend. Beautiful Thai restaurant down the Rd, Pub was absolutely fantastic, markets at school on 1st 3rd Sunday, made our family weekend wonderful
