My wife and I have been here a number of times, mostly in the evenings, listening to great Jazz music performed by Tiny Jazz. The wine is selection is excellent, prices are very reasonable, and the food is also of high quality. We love eating the pizzas, as well as the Charcuterie board. If you're looking for a place close but still away from the city to enjoy a glass or two of wine, Vine in the Village is the place. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Vine In The Village:
It is not illegal to bring a child to a place where alcohol is served, but the rude, rude manager used this as a reason for their child policy. My wife and I had been looking forward to a nice night with my daughter and her child. The manager showed us very politely the door after sitting at a table. Very unfriendly furnishings. It is not against the law to bring a child to an establishment that serves alcohol, but the rude manager unpleasantly used this as justification for their child policy. My wife and I were looking forward to a pleasant evening with our daughter and her child. However, after being seated at a table, the manager very rudely insisted we leave. The décor was also quite unwelcoming.
I've been visiting this restaurant for years, and I've noticed there have been several changes in bar management, yet I haven't seen any of them smile. The music is excessively loud—there's really no reason to leave with ringing ears. I've been trying to address this issue for months, but management shows no interest in making adjustments. I also suspect I got food poisoning during my last visit, and they never even apologized for the experience. I won't be returning again.
Overall, the food was good, but don't expect large portions; the dishes are more like tapas. We ordered the Crab Cakes, Hummus Plate, Brisket Pizza, and Philly Cheesesteak. I found the crab cakes to be overpriced and a bit too salty, so I would rate that dish three stars. However, both the Brisket Pizza and Cheesesteak were delicious! It seems @ginosdeli doesn't have anything to worry about. For dessert, we had the chocolate truffles, which had a crisp and warm center. My dad wasn't too pleased when he wanted the last coffee in the morning! On Thursday nights, they host open mic, which could be hit or miss. We heard it starting just as we finished our meal, so I can’t give a full opinion on that. There is outdoor seating available, but the only tables were high tops, which would have been difficult for my dad to sit at. They also offer wine memberships for those who frequently stop by for a glass.
Cool little place. Many drinks options and many dishes.
Impromptu dinner plans and headed to @vineinthevillage to check it out. Happy hour was until 6:30pm and we made it for a couple of drinks. My husband tried the Alex Pilsner draft from New Braunfels and really enjoyed it. I had a glass of house Pinot Noir. My husband had the Wedge Salad which he shared with Dad and me. Very fresh! Overall, the food was good but don't expect big portions of food. Small tapa plates. We had the Crab Cakes, Hummus Plate, Brisket Pizza and the Philly Cheesesteak. The crab cakes were overpriced and over salted. I would give it 3 stars. The brisket pizza and cheesesteak were tasty. @ginosdeli need not worry. We had the Chocolate Truffles for dessert. The middle was cakey and warm. Dad didn't want his so I'll have the last one with coffee in the morning! Thursday night is open mic night. It could be really good or not. It was just getting started as we ended our meal so can't really fully weigh in. There were outdoor seating but the ones available were high tops which would've been difficult for Dad to sit up. They have wine memberships available for those who want to frequently stop by for wine.
