The Twilight Room - Buffalo

We made reservations for our wedding anniversary to dine at the Twilight Room (for the first time) on June 10. I made the reservation online but when we arrived, the woman filling in told that they were not serving food, only drinks! We received no notice of this and wonder what has happened to the business. It looked like a cute restaurant online, with a different atmosphere and good food. But obviously, I cannot comment on either as we had to leave to find dinner elsewhere!

We went to dinner before going to the theatre. You enter through the book case not the door. The server was attentive. The decor is on the order of a speak easy. Frank Sinatra music and the Godfather on the tv over the bar. The wine and the appetizer ,Italian poutine! Was delicious. We loved the bolognese sauce and cheese curds over the shoe string fries. The entree, angel hair pasta with garlic and oil was just alright. It was a bit bland despite the whole cloves of garlic in the bowl. We asked for a little Parmesan which helped. The overall experience was good. We had plenty of time to get to the show.

Not the best experience even though there are alot of good reviews. Food wasn't great the Chicken Milanese was a piece of fried chicken on top of arugula. Banana Peppers were drown in red tomato sauce? Calamari had a few pieces of RAW calamari mixed in. Service was very slow because there was a table of 7 ahead of the others. Can't say I'd come back for dinner... drinks and music yes but not for dinner.

Very nice decor. Too dark for older eyes. Hard to get in from front.

Our waiter Michael was fantastic super accommodating, made recommendations, so polite and friendly the entire time. Really made the dining experience for us. We celebrated my moms birthday and he truly made it an enjoyable experience. The food was great so many apps made us almost too full for dinner so we shared more small plates as our entrees. Wine and cocktails were great too!
