Had a top value menu of the day meal for lunch here including drinks for 12.50 euro. Would return without hesitation. Lentils for entree and fish for main were great choices. Comparing choices of other friends would go fish dish any day of the week.
Last night in Bueu we thought that the No1 in Trip Advisor ought to get a visit, give it its first English review. The decor is very white the television blaring away seemed at odds with a place that seemed to aim more at couples than families. The food service were excellent though. We sampled a simple salad (as fresh as they all seem to be round here), delicious sardines on toast, and for mains a slightly odd hake/mussels combo and a fish new to me called sargo (a type of bream Wikipedia revealed) which was very moorish. I had ordered sea bass but when they showed me the size of the catch I was convinced the smaller sargo was a wiser choice. Both mains were served with potatoes veg. The short local wine list was enticing we splashed out on the dearest Albariño at €18.5 and it was gorgeous. A very creamy cheesecake pud coffee to finish and still all for €70 was pretty damn good.
We went to a friend for her advice. We had no references. excellent impression good shrimp, impressed percebe (which said that of ons, of the largest ones I have eaten), maiz empanada (rich), sargo (very good), mascarpone thousandlet leaves and cheese cake. wine (louro, godello), water and coffees for comensal, good price for the quantity, quality and elaboration we ate. a shame not to be around to come back more often.
