The 2 wait staff did a great job & were friendly & efficient . The steak was very tender but found the potatoes a wee bit fatty especially when they cooled down . A nice salad accompanied by a tasty vinaigrette .The bread was very fresh but beware you pay for this even if not requested - like all Argentinian restaurants it just arrives - is very cheap though but if you don't want it say so at the beginning. We had a nice 500ml bottle of Malbec to go with our meal, Very little wine sold by the glass in Argentina but most restaurants have small bottles .Most desserts here have Dulce de Leche - nice but very sweet ! We had the bread pudding with Ice Cream & Meringue which was a nice finish to our great value meal.
The intimate Tupe Parilla Restaurant was fully booked when we arrived & the door was locked. We were lucky enough to get a table as someone just left. We ate lomo steak each. We have discovered that a lot of restaurants do not offer sauces on their menus as was the case here. Our waiter was really helpful & arranged for a mushroom sauce for one of the steaks & also suggested grilled vegetables which were delicious. I was also able to order a glass of red wine which was also not on the menu. We finished our meal sharing pancakes with warm caramel sauce. A really good dining experience & worth going. Hope you enjoy it as well.
Just a small place tucked away on a side street. the piece of skirt steak was huge and could feed 4! so good. it was super busy and only one waiter. but it was so good i recommended others in my group to go the next day.
We decided to try the kidney appetizerand grilled Cheese. The Cheese was amazing -The Kidney.... This is not my favorite food. However, If you like Kidney I am sure it was delicious. It was grilled and looked great but not for me. I always try to eat something not native to USA when I can, now I know I dont care for that. So I ordered platter of grilled vegetables and the papas argenitnian (paprika and bacon and onion french fries) these were amazing. We also had kebab skewers of chicken and steak. These were very good too. It is a lot of food so make sure to be hungry when you go.
I have been visiting this restaurant regularly for over a year and they never disappoint me. I usually go with my wife but have taken friends and city visitors a few times. They deliver over and over. Their filete Maripoza is one of the best in a city known for their steaks. Their yam fries are really good and they offer a good variety of cost friendly wines. I definitely recommend this place. I suggest you make reservations since it is always packed with customers.
