My wife and I spent three nights in Palermo Hollywood. While there are many beautiful cafes and bars throughout the neighborhood, we were on this spot during our walk. How happy we found it. I am surprised that this is only a few with this concept - in the lounge there are over fifty bottles of Argentine wines connected to temperature-controlled donors. You float a map, read a short description of the wine, and choose between three sizes of pouring. Prices range somewhere between a few US dollars for a tasting (35mL) to ten dollars for a full glass of higher-priced bottles. We went with a cheeseboard, but there was also a complete dinner menu. We were the first customers when it opened at 6:00, but until it went, it was packed. We enjoyed the experience so much, we have made it our last experience of BsAs before you get to the airport. I thought this would be a casual, imaginable way to taste many varieties from many different vineyards. No one will judge you to try something new. If you want to taste the bottle, there is a separate selection of wines in a smaller room. We saw several other tables choose this option too.
The wine is issued by a kind of vending machine. There are three different casting sizes to choose from. It's fun to taste a lot of wines. We went to a Friday and there was a live band that really sounded great! And the food that came out of the kitchen was great. Especially the chocolate sampler for dessert. If you are in Buenos Aires, you must visit this wine bar.
This setup is very cool. You get a ‘credit card’ from the waiter that is loaded with 1000 pesos. You then can wines from a fairly large selection and choose, taste, half glass or full glass. The card automatically shows pricing for each and dispenses the wine and deducts the cost from the card. We really enjoyed trying the wines and had to ask the waiter to put another 1000 pesos on the card for us!
We went out as a romantic night. Most tables are on the street. Nice music. Nice food, though small portions. We asked for a gluten-free food and they calculated us extra for 4 small cookies : Anyway, it's a beautiful place.
