I went twice while in town. One night was a jam session (sort of ragtime). Alot of fun! The other night was a samba singer. Also fun!

During our visit in Buenos Aires we went a few times and have never been disapointed. Music was superb (we have heard the "brazilian night" with bossanova and a big band) and so was the food. Had the best "lomo" ever! Though not cheap good value for money and sizes of diishes are such that one can easily share one starter and one main course.

We listened to a local group performing some bossa Nova to honor Jobim and it was wonderful. Especially the singer and drummer performed exceptionally well.We didn't have food but enjoyed a bottle of wine which was good too.Should definitely be on everyone's schedule who likes jazz and visits Buenos Aires.

It is an interesting experience, but one best entered into with an already full stomach. We reserved, lined up at the counter of the CD store to pay our entry and choose our table, and finally were allowed in. After being shown our table and given our menus, we managed about 20 min. later to stand and flag a waiter down to place a drink order. In a country not known for speedy anything, the alacrity with which he swooped away our menus without asking if we'd be ordering anything else was actually jaw-dropping. About 15 min. later he returned to announce one of the drinks was not available and thus we were given another menu. 10 min. later we flagged another waitress to (re)place the drink order, and another 10 min. went bye before the first drink arrived, at which moment we nearly tripped the waiter to stop him from escaping in order to place a food order. Of course another 10 min. passed before the 2nd drink arrived. The quality of the performance is clearly dependant upon when one goes. We had mistakenly chosen this venue as a restaurant and liking jazz did not look carefully enough. Although a Nat King Cole tribute group would not have necessarily put me off, and the trio was good enough with a strong lead vocal, the female singers were not particularly wonderful, and the encore of a series of sing-along starting with Besame Mucho was more suited to carnival cruise than jazz club.In their possible defence, this was a Sunday night of a holiday weekend. Maybe half the staff failed to appear? All in all, not sure I would give it a second chance.

A friend recommended that we check this place out. We're sure glad we did. We chose a Sunday night. On the roster was Jorge Anders Jazz Orchestra. We couldn't believe it when the musicians began to arrive - 13 in all, plus Anders. The seating in the restaurant is a bit tight and that's not a compliant. We were at a table by the sax players. I was close enough to be able to turn the pages of their sheet music. Two hours of great jazz. The food menu is limited but something for most. Very good value. Go! If there are four of you, ask for table seven.
