So good and cheap and in a very unassuming place. I got the vegan option - arepas with plantains, black beans and avocado slices served with a few different sauces. My friends liked their arepas too - two of them ordered chicken and avocado and another ordered cheese, tomato and avocado. It was spicy and flavorful - two things that food in Argentina notoriously lacks. This place is the definition of "hidden gem." View all feedback.
During my trip abroad, I became addicted to the Arepas. Food in BA was not my favorite, but Guaica became my way to spot. As a vegetarian it was often difficult to find a hearty, tasty meal. I love the vegan arepa with black beans, avocado and plantain. Recently I tried the potatoes and the cheese of Venezuelan emperors.
So good and cheap and in a very inconceivable place. I have served the vegan option arepas with curtains, black beans and avocado slices with a few different sauces. My friends liked their arepas to two of them ordered chicken and avocado and another ordered cheese, tomatoes and avocado. It was spicy and tasteful two things that food in Argentina was noticeably lacking. This place is the definition of the hidden gem.
I friend of us took her and the food was great, hot, fresh and cheap!!! This is a very small place, but it is worth going if you like Venetian food or Colombian food. People are so nice that you feel at home with them. You do not take credit cards, so bring cash...IT IS WORTH IT!!!
Have you tried, Arepas? The team of Guaica Bar has a variety of recipes from traditional Venezuelan cuisine. The taste would take any Venezuelan back home. We had a day meal with chicken, rice and salad, which seems to change from day to day. The chicken was seasoned with a delicious traditional sauce. The rice had small corn grains and tasted great! The salad was an upbeat: very nice dressing. The meal is usually introduced with a soup, but we skipped the soup fear, not be able to judge everything according to the size of the portions). Our visit was after a busy morning of the walk around Buenos Aires. Calle Florida is known for shopping, and this place is a good stop for a meal. But be careful, the place is not easy to find : It is a small restaurant/bar in the lower part of a shopping center. The sphere is a small beach bar that you can find in the coast of Venezuela: bamboo, wood and a collection of Venezuela's best commercial rums.
