Bin 106 - Buderim

Dinner for seven- degustation style. Chef Stephen, did a fine job, working out a menu that spanned different cuisines including Peruvian cerviche, Portuguese, Swiss, Persian, Mexican, Russian and French offerings. Stephen is friendly and a good host and displays photos of celebrities, for whom he has cooked, on the wall. He has cooked in a Michelin star restaurant (2star). With all of this background and experience, I thought the presentation of the meals was ordinary but food was flavoursome for the most part.There was only one young girl to provide service to patrons and she has a lot to learn. Chef helped out with service too. He has a helper in the kitchen who maybe an apprentice or a kitchen hand.I would have rated it 3.5 but there are no half ratings. I may return to select from the menu as chef's specialty is French cuisine.Worth a go.

Our family came here because; this man alleges, he was a 'world renowned celebrity/royal chef'. But this statement didn't reflect the food, which was overpriced and bland.

Don't miss this little gem - fabulous chef, great service and food to die for! If staying on the Esplanade it's well worth the gentle 10 minute stroll down Brisbane Road. Lovely outside for lunch in the garden in the sun by the river, but also cosy inside on a cool winter's night

My friend and I had lunch at Bin 106 and we were both very happy with the food and the service. They have just started a new menu. The choices are exquisite and it was hard to decide which option to order as all were very appealing. I ordered the beaf stroganoff and my friend ordered the beef tartare. You could tell the food was cooked with passion and it was absolutely sensational. Equally we were impressed with the chefs impeccable customer service. And just to add to our great experience he gave us tasters of an amazing desert without us even asking or paying for it. What we liked the most, aside from the beautiful food, is the personable, friendly service from a person who genuinely loves what he does and this shows in his cooking and service. All the food is cooked fresh and is organic and we could tell from the delicious taste of our meals. There is also a really cool outdoor area where you can bask in the sun while enjoying the food and wine.This restaurant is definitely worth going to and I highly recommend Bin 106.

Having lived in Europe for many years, still travelling to Europe every year we try to find restaurants in Australia which offer tasty, honest food without being overpriced. The 3 course meal at Bin 106 was very nice, very tasty but nothing I would rave about if I was still living in Europe. The place is quite small, not set up as a fine dining restaurant. There is a set menu, 3 courses but nothing is in writing, no black board, no prices mentioned. The chef comes to the table and tells us what is on tonight but really only saying the french names of the dishes without explaining anything at all. We order wine from the wine list, the waitress makes a mistake, instead of bringing the wine we ordered ($39) she opens a bottle which was $ 69 but realizes she made a mistake, apologizes, takes the wine back and brings the wine we have ordered. We are still in a very happy mood because we finally have found a nice french place we'd like to come back to....................... Well, when we had to pay our bill we felt we were taken for a ride. $ 70 a person for the 3 course menu was way overpriced and on top of all we got charged the higher price for the wine. Not worth the money we have spent,
