My local friend told me that this was hands down the best place for authentic Hungarian food. However, even he was disappointed with the decline in quality. Bear in mind, this isn't a low rating because the food was not great. It's because it was allegedly once the best place to eat. The Hortobágyi palacsinta was something that came absolutely recommended and it turned out to be cold and dry. The pork stew was barely edible as a main that no one touched it. However, the servers were warm and quick on their feet, essential for anyone working in F&B. We did not have a bad time, but we did leave the restaurant disappointed with the food quality. Hopefully they step it up because I would personally love to come back and try other dishes!
Very nice restaurant with very friendly staff. It’s a cozy place to have meal. The Hungarian style homemade food really comfort me after a long term business travel. The staff even provided me some guide on Roten noble wine purchasing. It’s a perfect place to visit if you want to try some Hungarian food in a casual way.
Excellent eating! searched for traditional Hungarian food and landed here. we were not disappointed. the speck wrapped meat was exquisite and the sauce with the huh was delicious. the sweet jam with the kamembert was great. Don't worry about beer.
Lovely traditional meal with friendly staff. Highly recommended- very welcoming
Very enjoyable and authentic Hungarian food, great service and very reasonable prices, portions are big too even better ! Only regret is not coming back second time when we shouid of, instead we went to another place few minutes away, Rosenstein very very big mistake avoid that place unless you want to be robbed ! I definitely return to Huszar Etterem next time I'm in Hungary even if I'm not staying near Keleti Palyaudvar Metro district, it be worth the journey !
