The service here is excellent! do not count in much English speaking, but by sign language and guesswork they end up with an amazing experience
The only place you need to visit in Budapest. If the music starts, you never want to go.
If you are up for something different and authentic this is the place. Family owned business with live music (officially from 10, but we were there at 9 and they were playing). Enjoy the sound of cimbalom with a shot of home made palinka.
TOURIST TRAP SCAM DONT GO!!! No menus, cash only. They act really nice and give you a shot. They ask which country you are from or ask if you want a request and play a song you know. When finished song they say Pallet meaning shots for the band, they did this twice to us. We didn 't trust them and asked how much this cost us and they asked for Euro 40 for 6 shots of local homemade spirit. We refused to pay this and after a lot of arguing they backed down and we left. They use a little old woman as the bar tender who has zero English to confuse and try to make you feel bad for questioning prices on bill. Total scam.
Lovely little traditional place but rather expensive. A shot of local liqueur Unicum set me back more than it did at a fairly posh restaurant I went to minutes beforehand! Service: 2 Atmosphere: 5
